Unsurpassed Fuel Economy
2009 Ford Escape is powered by a new 2.5L Duratec I-4 engine with advanced features such as intake variable cam timing technology. It's teamed with a 5-speed manual transmission in the XLS Manual model and a new 6-speed automatic in the XLS, XLT and Limited. The 2.5L Duratec produces higher power ratings than its I-4 predecessor, with 171 horsepower and 171 lb.-ft. of torque.
